I forgot to mention that of all the DToid writers, Jim is typically the one with tongue most obviously and firmly in cheek, hence the misinterpretations of trollish behavior. But the unabashed behavior is part of why I read (and watch) him. Admittedly, I messed up and couched Jim's stuff as a legit review when they clearly aren't, so that's just me and my bright, yet moronic behavior.

Jim, at the risk of sounding like a hurhur fanboy type who asks for autographs with sweaty palms and a psycho smile, thanks for popping by and legitimizing my little corner of the Net, albeit temporarily. Love Dtoid in general for its writing style and hope to learn something from them one of these days. Thanks again - and keep an eye out - I link Dtoid often.

Fair enough, I guess that's why it felt very YouTube-esque. But my problem is that, at least to me, it come off as pure mockery of the game itself and it was hard to swallow, especially from you.

As for the peripheral fad, I think DJ Hero is the one that made me realize that, just when I thought I might be done with plastic instruments I find myself wanting to drop my hard earned cash on some more.

@Slurm:

Hi, Jim here. You seem to miss the point of the video series, although the article itself doesn't quite interpret the videos how they're meant to be interpreted. They're not supposed to be a Yahtzee-styled mockery of videogames. They're a parody of the two-bit teenagers around the Internet who think that, just because they've got a video camera and Windows Movie Maker, that they can be Internet video stars that exude knowledge about videogames.

There reason why I didn't find faults and do a proper review is that it's not a review at all, nor is it meant to find faults in the game. It's meant to be a badly made, ill-informed video by someone who makes himself sound woefully ignorant of the subjects he's trying to tackle.

I do believe that DJ Hero takes the music peripheral fad too far, but as a game, it's actually not too bad.

He needs to leave the "poking fun at video games while reviewing them" to Yahtzee. It's so sad to, because out of all the guys at Destructoid, Jim seems the one who exudes the most intelligence, and then he does this and knocks himself down a peg. It's clear that he couldn't find faults in the game enough to do a proper review (because he would have been forced to give credit that he didn't want to), and that he just loathes that genre of music, so he goes YouTube on us.
