I wouldn’t mind trying Darkfall…but I just don’t think I have the sort of time needed to be good heh

To be fair, that is something that Eurogamer does in general. They revisit MMOs more often for reviews; they recently game Age of Conan a second re-review. As such it is possible that they would’ve given one for Darkfall regardless (though perhaps a bit later).

What I personally found most interesting, as someone who doesn’t care much for Darkfall regardless, was the third interlude talking about the difficulty of reviewing MMOs in general. And his proposal of a dual review for MMOs (with the first one being just for the first 20 hours or so) is intriguing. On top of that I find reviews coming back to MMOs regularly to see how it is going a very good idea as well. They are, after all, meant to last years.

And most chuckle-worthy moment for me? “Perhaps the biggest irony about this whole mess: I suspect this is an MMO which you can tell whether you like or not in those first couple of hours.” With all the brouhaha over how many hours he might or might not have played that was a very funny observation.
